   ... A PEERLESS TERROIR ...

For a long time, Yvorne is living a love story with wine lovers. Thanks to its particular soil shaped by climate and years the appellation is made of a patchwork of terroirs. Moreover its sunny situation dedicated  Yvorne to vine growing.

The terraces of Château Maison Blanche cover 7.5 ha on a steep slope. Before the 1584’s rock fall the ground was homogenous on a chalky base. After the landslide, a huge mass of various rocks covered the primitive soil. The terroir of Maison Blanche is made of 60 to 70% stones mixed with alluvial deposits giving the wine a typical character.

Severe clonal selection, “gobelet” or Royat pruning, very small yield and manual grape harvest are the assets of Maison Blanche wines quality. The vineyard is planted with 85% white arieties (Chasselas and Savagnin blanc) and 15% red ones (Pinot Noir, Gamay, Gamaret, Garanoir and Diolinoir).
